East Africa Law Society

The East Africa Law Society is the premier regional Bar Association in East Africa. It is a dual membership organization, bringing together the six thousand-plus individual lawyer-members from the region as well as the six national Bar associations: Law Society of Kenya, Tanganyika Law Society, Uganda Law Society, Zanzibar Law Society, Kigali Bar Association and Burundi Bar Association.

American Bar Association

The American Bar Association represents the interests of lawyers and promotes the international rule of law through international programs outside the US that focus on access to justice, human rights, anti-corruption, judicial reform and more.

General Council of the Bar of South Africa

Representative body for South African advocates, to which the various provincial Bar associations and societies are affiliated. The "Legal System" section explains the composition of the legal profession. There are links to, and/or contact details for, the various affiliate bodies, and the Council's Uniform rules of professional conduct are reproduced in full.

International Bar Association

Law Society of England and Wales

The Law Society of England and Wales represents the interests of solicitors in England and Wales.

Law Society of Kenya

The Law Society of Kenya is the bar association and legal development agency in Kenya.

The LSSA is the umbrella body of the attorneys' profession in South Africa. Includes links to other South African law sites.

The Nigerian Bar Association is the umbrella body of all lawyers admitted to practice law in Nigeria.

Southern Africa Development Community - Law Association (SADC-LA)

SADC Lawyers Association is an independent voluntary association made up of Law Societies and Bar Associations of the Southern African Development Community.

Tanganyika Law Society

The Tanganyika Law Society is the Bar Association of Tanzania mainland aiming at promoting the rule of law by, inter alia, furthering the professional development of its members.

Uganda Law Society

The Uganda Law Society is a corporate body with the mission to improve the professional standards of members of the Legal Profession, and to promote Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Uganda.
